In 2010, Vanessa Grout was appointed President of Douglas Elliman Florida by its Chairman, Howard Lorber, also President and CEO of Vector Group Ltd. Through its real estate arm, New Valley, for which Ms. Grout has directed acquisitions since 2007, Vector Group owns Douglas Elliman Realty, the largest residential brokerage company in New York.

As President, Ms. Grout holds ultimate responsibility for the restructure and expansion of the company, having achieved significant agent and revenue growth in the short time since assuming her role. Under the leadership of Ms. Grout, Douglas Elliman Florida has established critical positioning by acquiring three key office locations in Miami with presence in Palm Beach, securing headquarters in the iconic Herzog & de Meuron building at 1111 Lincoln Road.

Ms. Grout recognizes the importance of preserving the century-old Douglas Elliman reputation for quality, professionalism and results, maintaining these values as she re-invents the company's image in the South Florida marketplace, along with her growing team of top-producing real estate professionals.

Ms. Grout was raised in Miami and is a licensed Florida attorney. She attended the University of Miami and also earned her MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business. Prior to joining New Valley, Ms. Grout served as Director and General Counsel for an affordable housing development group in Miami.
